The world believes demons were eradicated with the fall of Muzan Kibutsuji, the so-called Demon King of Japan. The Demon Slayer Corps of old faded into history, and for years, there was peace. But peace is always an illusion.

What the world does not know is that Muzan was merely a fragment of something far older. Demons did not originate from Japan, nor were they the creation of a single man. They were born from an entity beyond human comprehension—Samael, The Supreme Demon King.

Long before the rise of civilization, Samael descended upon Earth, bringing apocalypse upon the land. What history records as the asteroid impact that ended the dinosaurs was, in truth, the arrival of a being whose hunger for power rivaled the gods themselves. Samael’s war against celestial warriors—the Radiant Sentinels—shattered the world, but he was eventually sealed away beneath the surface.

As the Ice Age came, humans emerged, and Samael’s followers, the Abyssal Order, began working in the shadows to free their god. Egypt, Mesopotamia, and Mesoamerica—each civilization that rose was unknowingly manipulated by Samael’s influence, constructing monuments, pyramids, and temples as part of his revival. His greatest stronghold became the Aztec Empire, where war and bloodshed fueled the rituals of the Order. When the Mayans and Aztecs suddenly vanished, history could not explain why. The truth? The last celestial warriors fought a final war against Samael, sealing him and his Heralds beneath the ruins of their temples.

But Samael was never truly gone. Like Muzan, he left a piece of himself in every demon.

This story takes place after the events of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, in an era where the world believes that demons have been eradicated with the defeat of Muzan Kibutsuji. With the Demon Slayer Corps nearly disbanded and the Hashira system fading into legend, a new generation of warriors emerges to combat the unknown forces that lurk in the shadows. Uriah stands at the center of this battle, as the key to both a lost past and an uncertain future.
